Take his Colloure, And were yt not for Allom yt wold loke 398
Not take colloure. For the Allom is fermente to the 418
Colloure. But yf youe put not in Argolle unto the
Allom. Then the colour will not pearce thorowe the Allom
Cloth, nor thorowe the threds . therefore to make him pearce
Youe most put Argoll to the Allom.
For as the Allom makes him take his Collour more
Or lesse, According to the strength of the allom, or deper or
Lighter of colloure according to the quality therof.
So the argolle makes the colloure to pearce more or Argole
Lesse according to the quality, and goodness therof
And in dyinge of cloth. Firste they boille, brane and Brane
Water together. Then they put yt forth into a leed. And let

The Brane. And then they boille that liquor again
With allom and Argolle. And after that for 2 howers
They boille the cloth therin, stirring and turninge it
Often, that the Allom and Argolle may paste thorowe
The thredes, to drawe the colloure into the depth of the
Cloth. For the better the cloth is allom be and argold the

And argold the lesse and lighter wilbe the colour of the
