Arrived at lab ca 9:40 am

Started reproducing Van den Brenk's wax casting recipe

Materials used:

White bees wax (Drogisterij Wortman, Utrecht)

Plaster mould (Dutch moulds)

Demineralised water

Clean, new, enamelled pan (Dille & Kamille), heated au Bain Marie

Easy and straightforward, works well. Apparently I made the plaster mould too wet, because it got damaged: little bits of it stuck to the cast. But the figurine came out pretty nice and overall it was easy to see how a house wife or kitchen maid could have used this to make wax cake decorations.
