Description

Or vidj (the j has to be read as an i) comes from the Latin videre and translates as 'I saw' (first person singular past tense). In the Mayerne manuscripts this might refer to an observation (of a proof or experiment) by the author. The passage that follows vidi is thus his account of the author's observation.
